These terms apply whenever you book or buy from us, whether online or by accepting a written quote. If your quote says something different about price, what's included or dates, the quote wins.
02Booking online
These packages can be booked on our website by paying a 50% deposit through Stripe's secure checkout.
- When you pay the deposit, you agree to these terms and your contract is with HikkiByte Ltd.
- We'll contact you within 24 hours by WhatsApp, phone or email to book a short kick-off call, confirm your design and agree a launch date.
- We start work straight away, so the deposit is non-refundable once paid. Individuals have a legal right to cancel, explained in Cancellations.
- If we can't take on your project for any reason, we refund your deposit in full.
- Pro websites, App + Platform and add-ons are quoted individually. Call or WhatsApp us and we'll send you a written quote.
03What's included
- Your package includes what's listed on our website when you book, or what's written in your quote.
- Each package includes a set number of rounds of changes after you see your first preview. One Page and App Launch include one, Business and App Pro two, and Pro and App + Platform three, unless your quote says otherwise.
- Anything not listed isn't included. Extra pages, features or changes beyond your included rounds are quoted before any work starts, so there are no surprise bills.
- Our designs are starting points. We tailor yours to your business, but other clients may use the same starting design for their own brand.
Apps: we build your app and hand it over ready to publish. We don't publish it to Google Play or the App Store for you. It goes live on your own developer accounts, so it stays fully yours.
04How it works
- You book online with a deposit, or accept a written quote and pay the deposit.
- We have a kick-off call to confirm your design, content and launch date.
- You send your content: logo, photos, text, prices and opening hours. We send you a checklist.
- We build a private preview and send you the link to try on your phone.
- You request changes, up to the rounds included.
- You approve it and pay the balance.
- We launch it on your domain and hand everything over.
05Payment
- 50% deposit before work starts. 50% balance after you approve the preview, before your site goes live or your app is handed over.
- We send the balance as an invoice with a secure payment link. Invoices are due within 7 days.
- You always pay HikkiByte Ltd directly. Partners never take payments.
- If the balance isn't paid within 30 days of your approval, we may pause the project. The deposit still covers the work already done.
- All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP).
- Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
06Cancellations and refunds
We start work straight away, so the deposit is non-refundable once paid, however soon you cancel. The only exception is the legal right individuals have, explained below.
- If you cancel at any point: the deposit isn't refunded and unfinished work isn't handed over.
- If we can't take on your project: we refund your deposit in full.
- The balance is only paid once you're happy with the preview, so you never pay the second half for something you haven't approved.
If you're buying as a business, there's no cooling-off period and the rules above apply from the moment you pay.
If you're buying as an individual (not a business), the law gives you the right to cancel within 14 days of booking, and these terms don't take that away.
When you book, you're asking us to start straight away, within those 14 days, and you understand the right to cancel ends once the work is finished. We'll confirm this with you on WhatsApp when we get in touch.
If you cancel within the 14 days, we refund your deposit minus a proportionate amount for the work we've already done. After 14 days, the deposit is non-refundable, the same as for businesses.
To cancel, just tell us clearly by WhatsApp, email or phone. Any refund due is made within 14 days, to the card you paid with.
07Care plans
- Care plans are optional and start when your site goes live or your app is handed over.
- They're paid monthly in advance, and what's included is listed on our website.
- You can cancel at any time with 30 days' notice.
08Ownership and your content
- You own your website once the full price is paid. Until then it stays with HikkiByte Ltd.
- You confirm you have the right to use everything you send us, including logos, photos, text and brand names.
- We may show your site in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.
09Liability
- We build every project with reasonable care and skill, but we don't guarantee Google rankings, sales or visitor numbers.
- We aren't responsible for services run by others, such as domain registrars, app stores, payment providers or third-party hosting.
- Our total liability for a project is limited to the amount you've paid us for it.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, or affects your legal rights as a consumer.
10Partners and referral codes
Some clients are introduced to us by self-employed partners. If you used a partner's link or code, it's attached to your booking so they're credited for the introduction.
- It never changes your price.
- Partners can't take payments, agree prices or change these terms. Only HikkiByte Ltd can.
11Your details
HikkiByte Ltd is responsible for the personal details you give us. We keep this simple.
What we collect
Your name, email, phone number, business name and any partner code, plus the messages and content you send us for your project.
Why
To deliver your project, contact you about it, take payment and keep the records the law requires. We don't sell your details and we don't send marketing.
Who else sees it
- Stripe processes card payments.
- WhatsApp carries messages if you contact us that way.
- If a partner introduced you, we tell them whether you booked so we can pay their commission.
- Our website loads fonts from Google and images from Unsplash, which see your device's IP address.
On your device
If you arrive through a partner's link, our website remembers their code on your device for 60 days so they're credited if you book later. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
For as long as your project and any care plan run, then up to 6 years for tax and accounting records.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your details, or ask us to correct or delete them, by contacting us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
12Complaints, changes and law
- If something isn't right, tell us first and we'll do our best to put it right quickly.
- We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you booked applies to your project.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
